On Thursday, November 29th, FUNCAS organizes a public presentation of number 157 of its journal Papeles de Economia Española. This special issue entitled “Economic Analysis of the Digital Revolution” and associated digital e-book features a study of the current state of the academic literature on crowdfunding by Car3fin member Pablo Ruíz Verdú and Carlos Bellón (“Crowdfundig, what do we know?”).

The article Search for Yield coauthored by our colleague David Martínez and professor Rafael Repullo has been accepted for publication in Econometrica, an A+ publications in Economics (top 5 among 345 JCR journals in Economics usisng the Article Influence Score metrics). Congratulations David!

Prof. Itziar Castelló, Assistant Professor of Management at UC3M Business, has been awarded with the Best Paper Award for her paper “Strategic CSR Communication between Fashion, Affordance and Emergence” presented in the EUPRERA 2016 conference

A paper written by our PhD student Silvina Rubio (advised by car3fin member Jose Marín) on the effect of share repurchases (“The Bright Side of Stock Repurchases”) was referenced in an article recently published in the Wall St Journal (here). Congratulations Silvina!

Our colleague José Penalva has just published the book “Algorithmic and High-Frequency Trading” in the well respected editorial Cambrigde University Press (Amazon link Here). The book is coauthored with our former colleague Álvaro Cartea and Sebastian Jaimunga. We hope you find it as interesting as we do. Congratulations José!

Our colleague Bing Guo has published the article “Investment, Duration, and Exit Strategies for Corporate and Independent Venture Capital-Backed Start-Ups” coauthored with  Yun Lou, and David Pérez-Castrillo in the last issue of the Journal of Economics and Management Strategy

The article “The strategic behavior of firms with debt” coauthored by our colleague Anna Toldra and Jerome Reboul has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Financial & Quantitative Analysis. This is the journal with the highest score (weighted average of 5-year Impact Factor and Article Influence Score) among the A Journals in Finance (fourth among the overall list of all journals in finance). Congratulations Anna, for this achievement!

The article entitled “A Clash of Governance Logics: Foreign Ownership and Board Monitoring” coauthored by our colleagues Monica Lopez-Puertas and Kurt Desender, jointly with our friends Ruth Aguilera (Norteastern Univesity) and Rafel Crespí (Universitat de les Illes Balears) has been accepted for publication in the Strategic Management Journal (an A+ journal in Management)
